Currently Reading: Birds of Prey #5

I’m really loving Poison Ivy’s new look. A lot less “look, I’m a whore”, a little more “I’m one with nature, just as my character design should have been all along anyway.” Her green eyes are definitely a plus.

The issue was pretty awkward, though. Seemed all over the place, and I can only guess that that was the intention. That the team was where they were when the issue started was jarring for them must have been the same reader response the writers expected. And then it just ends abruptly. I wished they’d given even the slightest clue as to what had happened to cause all the confusion, because really, the whole issue was one big ball of what now?

Now I have to wait for a month to find out. Oy vey.

350/15: January 31

Today, it rained.

My mom got me these new cufflinks while my brother and I were at the grocery yesterday. It was such a pleasant surprise. She pulled them out of her bag and tossed them over to me while I was creeping Tumblr in bed. I opened the box and immediately, my day had been made.

I can’t wait to use them to work. During the next big occasion, maybe.

Currently Watching: Mean Girls

This show just never gets old. Besides the fact that it’s practically the foundation that Tumblr’s built on (with almost every other line in the show having its own meme), the story’s pretty good, and the characters are easily likable.

And Amanda Seyfried. I rest my case.

350/12: January 28

She won Show Stopper, and he won Best Dressed Guy. They both got their own crowns and sashes. I’m really glad she enjoyed her evening :)

As promised, the final photo from my little sister’s prom. With her date. With the shoulder-piece she made for him. They were so matchy-matchy, it was very entertaining.

Second to the last prom-related photo. I don’t know why I’m such a proud older brother right now, but I am. It’s probably unfounded, or I’m probably just proud about how pretty she can actually be. Oh, vanity of vanities.

She made that armor shoulder-piece herself. She made a smaller version of it for her date. The last photo will be one with her date :D

My sister’s been raving about her prom all year, so you can only imagine how terribly excited she is right now. Today was the first time she’d ever had her hair and make-up done professionally, and man, she’s really gorgeous, if I may say so myself. I don’t normally tell her that, so she can go on ahead and bask in this rare occurrence when she reads this on my blog tomorrow.

She getting into her prom dress right now, and in a couple of hours, she’ll finally be off to her prom. I really do hope she has a good time tonight :)

350/11: January 27

Today was my grandparents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary. That’s fifty whole years of being married to each other. It’s very romantic, in a way, and it kinda gives you the feeling that there’s still hope left in this world for love and lasting relationships. Being able to celebrate this some time down the road is definitely something I’m determined to do.

The whole evening was a pleasant surprise. The caterers, the food, the guests. We didn’t think we’d fill the number of seats we ordered for, but my uncles managed to invite more people last minute. The food was great, the caterers were great. Our grandparents’ surprise was definitely icing on the cake :)

Now you’d think I’d post a photo with my grandparents, but you’d be wrong. See, this photo with my siblings and my cousin ranks among one of my better shots of the evening. I have a few other good shots, but none of them with the oldies. I’ll try getting over myself and posting a decent photo from the event. Till then, you’ll have to make do with this. I love these three to bits, and I hope none of them ever change ♥

I had a really great time tonight. It’s always such a pleasant time being around this side of the family. I’m really glad our grandparents had a great time.
