Comic Book Wednesday. Pretty intense Pull List from Marvel this week, huh?

Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha and Omega begins shipping today. I’m not entirely sure whether or not this 5-part limited series leads up to a bigger event this year, but it’s about Wolverine going toe-to-toe with Kid Omega about (comic book followers, help me out here) who should head the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning that Wolverine and his share of the X-Men went on to build after the schism.

Uncanny X-Force ships today, too, and it picks up from where Captain Britain suddenly leaps out of a painting to Fantomex. The next few issues are going to deal with the latter’s trial in the hands of former and what I’m guessing will be a new incarnation of the Excalibur (Meggan, Sage, et al).

What kinda of took me off-guard, though, was the release of a different Uncanny X-Force. The Marvel site calls it “Uncanny X-Force (2011) #1”, as opposed to the current release, “Uncanny X-Force (2010) #20”. But upon further investigation (i.e. enlarging the comic book cover), it calls the issue “Uncanny X-Force #19.1”, so I’m guessing it’s some way to sort of spin-off into another series, this time following the characters from the Age of Apocalypse that were previously featured? Again, comic book guys, I’d appreciate the help here. Thanks :)

X-Club #2, X-Men #23, and Uncanny X-Men #4 ship today. It’s a pretty good day for Team Cyclops, don’t you think?

Over on the Avengers side, Defenders #2 and Avengers: X-Sanction #2 ship today.
